Molecular Pharmaceutics

Our laboratory "Department of Molecular Pharmaceutics (DMP)" has started since September 2014 and has been updating to "DMP 2.1" for next decade.

Pharmaceutics is the science that designs dosage forms to be administered to patients.

It can be considered as a hybrid field that bridges the physicochemical aspects of drugs with the clinical needs for patients.

By evaluating and designing pharmaceutical formulations at the molecular level, our research is organized around four key themes that are highly relevant to the pharmaceutical industry (1, 2) and clinical practice (3, 4):

1) investigation of the crystal forms of active pharmaceutical ingredients,

2) physicochemical evaluation using Raman spectroscopy and its use in monitoring,

3) the design of novel formulations such as transdermal patches and microneedle formulations, and

4) research on pediatric formulations.
