In our laboratory, we focus on organic compounds—the core components of pharmaceuticals—and conduct research from the following four perspectives:
- Creating new reactions for synthesis: Development of novel catalytic reactions
- Total synthesis of valuable molecules: Total synthesis of bioactive natural products using catalytic methods
- Exploring function (molecular properties): Investigation of the reactivity of underutilized molecules and functional group chemistry
- Exploring potential as medicines: Medicinal chemistry
Our research spans a wide range of topics, with a particular emphasis on transition metal–catalyzed reactions and photoredox catalysis.
