How are administered drugs absorbed into the body, what determines their subsequent disposition, and which mechanisms ultimately give rise to therapeutic effects and adverse reactions?

Our laboratory is dedicated to elucidating the behavior of drugs, with particular emphasis on the determinants underlying inter- and intra-individual variability in pharmacokinetics—including absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion—as well as pharmacodynamics. Through these investigations, we aim to advance the optimization of pharmacotherapy and contribute to the rational and efficient development of new therapeutic compounds.
