Microbiology
The Laboratory of Microbiology conducts research aimed at developing strategies for the control of infectious diseases and related disorders, based on an understanding of host–microbe interactions. Specifically, our work focuses on (1) elucidating the mechanisms by which disruption of the skin microbiome leads to disease onset, (2) analyzing the infection mechanisms of pathogenic fungi, and (3) uncovering environmental adaptation strategies, including biofilm formation.
