Advances in antimicrobial agents and vaccines once enabled major control of infectious diseases, but the recent global rise of antimicrobial-resistant bacteria has become a serious threat. Our laboratory conducts fundamental research on microbial pathogenicity and resistance mechanisms to apply these findings to medicine and biotechnology.
