We have studied molecular basis of lysosomal storage diseases, and endeavored to develop therapies for these disorders. We have produced lysosomal enzymes responsible for lysosomal storage diseases in yeast and mammalian cells, and showed that these recombinant enzymes could be incorporated into target organs and tissues and accumulate with substrate cleavage.
